Psychedelic indie funk rock band The Serial Chillers have emerged as a cornerstone of the Budapest live music scene, and on January 24th, the band is coming to Szimpla!
Formed originally in 2017 by the band’s frontman and producer Jeff Joyner (Ohio), the Chillers have evolved significantly over the years until reaching the current rock solid lineup. Leosan Bass (Chile) is the band’s bassist and low end machine, Sly Juhas (Canada) is the funky drummer and clock-man, Suto Marton (Hungary) provides exquisite guitar, while Jeff Joyner provides charismatic lead vocals, lead guitar, and psychedelic FX.
Their fun, energetic performances draw colorful links to funk, tribal, and psychedelic rock. Proudly impossible to pin down as one kind of genre, the Chillers have been compared to the Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, and Pink Floyd.

The band was featured on the front page of the Budapest Times. Several of their successful hits were selected by Spotify's own editors for Spotify’s curated playlists. The band has so far released 4 full length albums and many singles. In recent years their Spotify account has at times exceeded 10,000 monthly listeners. The band’s songs are produced by the frontman Jeff Joyner.
Listeners have compared The Serial Chillers to artists such as Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, and Rage Against the Machine, although the band refuses to be pigeonholed into any single genre.
