About this concert
Songwriters at Play is hosting a live music series at Blast & Brew in Atascadero. It's an Open Mic with a featured act playing in the middle of the show, and other musicians playing two songs each. Runs 6:00-8:30. No cover charge, but we pass the tip bucket for our featured artist. February 19 features The Rivalry, a duo of sisters Haley and Molly, who have moved back to their home on the Central Coast after playing for several years in Nashville. Playing a blend of pop, indie, and americana, they bring an upbeat vibe and plenty of vocal harmonies. When she first moved to Nashville, Haley started playing music full time, as well as creating her own guitar-focused content on Instagram and YouTube. After spending time touring and playing with a variety of musicians, she convinced Molly to play a show with her, and The Rivalry was born. Follow them: https://www.instagram.com/wearetherivalry/ Listen to their single: https://youtu.be/5XLtoy66GG4?si=qzdXVnmFodcgz99g Special guests on Feb. 19: the duo called Familiar Strangers, Morgan Childers, Deborah McHenry, and Kielo Smith. Musicians are welcome to play originals or covers. Sign up in advance at stevekey57@gmail.com.

Steve Key Biography

Steve Key is an award-winning songwriter, performer and recording artist, best known as the writer of "33, 45, 78 (Record Time)" recorded by country music star Kathy Mattea. He now lives in Shell Beach on California's Central Coast. Steve Key performs solo, sometimes with guitar or fiddle backup. His latest album is called "How I Learned to Drink", a collection of 10 Key originals.

Before he arrived on the Central Coast 12 years ago, Steve was a touring folksinger who played major concert venues and folk festivals across the country and in Canada. His songs were covered by dozens of folk and country acts. He recorded for New York's Fast Folk label, which is now part of the Folkways collection at the Smithsonian.
