Songwriters at Play returns to Blast & Brew in Atascadero. It's an Open Mic with a featured act playing in the middle of the show, and other musicians playing two songs each. Runs 6:00-8:30. No cover charge, but we pass the tip bucket for our featured artist. Feb. 5 features Cate Armstrong was in the 2024 Finale of our song contest at the Cambria Center for the Arts, and won a Best Overall prize at the Pismo Beach contest. She is a local singer songwriter and TMHA (Transitions Mental Health Association) support group facilitator who uses music as a medium to bring people together to feel in community. Inspired by Maggie Rogers, Joni Mitchell, Lizzy McAlpine, and Adrianne Lenker, Cate values modeling vulnerability and rooting into the vein of the feeling, loving human experience in her lyrics and performance, striving to create pockets of relatability and connection for folks of all ages.
