Ma & God

Ma & God was formed in January 2014 By Fritz Keen (Victoria, TX) and Peak Allon (Houston, TX). Both had been singing and playing in East Texas bands for years without much success, and were tired of waiting for their band-mates to get serious. After they became a couple in December, they began working tirelessly to write a set they could perform without any auxiliary players, learning to drum with their feet and change instruments rapidly within a song. They then set about booking a massive inaugural tour of the West Coast, recording an EP, and making handmade merch, helped by good friends along the way but by and large working on their own-- the EP was recorded live in their tour van, and album art was collaged and hand-lettered by Fritz. This independent streak strongly flavors the band's unique image and sound. Now, with a two-month tour under its belt, Ma & God is continuing to grow with this independent approach, booking festival dates and writing/recording material for its forthcoming full-length album (set to include an even wider array of instruments and more lush vocal arrangements).
