Nākamgad atzīmējot mūsu 30. gadu jubileju, vēlamies aicināt visus draugus un atbalstītājus uz jaunā albuma “TEIKAS“ prezentācijas svētkiem, kas norisināsies 2025. gada 3. maijā Arēnā Rīga!
Esam pēdējos gados nepārtraukti strādājuši pie jaunām dziesmām, kas atkal vēstīs par aizmirstām Latvijas vēstures lapaspusēm. Albuma kopējā tēma - senās latviešu teikas un ticējumi.
Skyforger Pēteris stāsta: ”Sen pagājuši laiki, kad tika sacerēti un no paaudzes paaudzē mutiski nodoti seni ticējumi, teikas un pasakas. Skaidrs, ka tādas tradīcijas vairs nekad neatgriezīsies un neatdzims. Mums par laimi, daudz kas ir pierakstīts un saglabāts. Šajā albumā gribam dot iespēju klausītājam atgriezties tajos senajos ‘teiksmainajos’ laikos, kad mums blakus mita dieviņi, velni, raganas, vilkači un visapkārt Latvijā bija tik daudz mistisku un noslēpumainu vietu, par kurām mūsu senči zināja stāstīt."
Skyforger šajā divu stundu garajā koncertā dārdinās jaunās un arī vecās, labi zināmās un iemīļotās dziesmas. Koncertu papildināsim ar iespaidīgu vizuālo noformējumu, tā lai būtu visiem mums atkal viens vērienīgs, neaizmirstams notikums! Protams, būs arī īpašie viesi, kurus izziņosim vēlāk.

SKYFORGER to celebrate the release of the new “TEIKAS“ (FOLKTALES) album with a grand show at Arena Rīga in May 2025
Latvian Folk/Pagan Metal band SKYFORGER will be celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2025 and invite friends and fans from around the world to the launch party of their new album “FOLKTALES” on 3 May 2025 at Arena Rīga, Latvia.
For the past few years, SKYFORGER have been busy unearthing a selection of finest gems from the rich depths of Latvian history and folklore, now polished to perfection in “FOLKTALES”, their first release in ten years.
Vocalist Pēteris says: “The days of fables, tales and stories being handed over from generation to generation are long gone. This tradition is not coming back ever. Fortunately, we still have so much of it noted down and preserved. In our latest album, we wanted to take the listener back to those mythical olden days when gods, deities, devils, witches and werewolves walked among people, and there were all these mysterious and wondrous places and sites right next to us, here in Latvia, that our ancestors wanted to to tell us about."
In a grand two-hour set, SKYFORGER will be thundering through their brand new compositions and old fan favourites alike. The band promises spectacular visuals and a performance by special guests, whose identity will be revealed at a later point.
The 3 May 2025 show will be SKYFORGER’s first performance of the year in Latvia.

Skyforger Biography
SKYFORGER is an extraordinary Folk / Pagan Metal band from Riga, Latvia, and have been forging their music in the smithy of the Latvian Thundergod Pērkons since 1995.
For more than a quarter-century, the band has been forging their music under the flag of Latvian Pagan Metal, an extreme blend of traditional Baltic Folk music and various Metal influences ranging from Norwegian inspired Black Metal through to 80s-rooted Heavy Metal. The band's unique combination of ancient and modern influence has given them a wide appeal throughout both the Metal and Folk scenes, and has brought great variety to their song writing over the course of the seven SKYFORGER albums.
The first of these was unleashed from the forge in 1997. Titled 'Semigalls' Warchant', the demo tape told tales of the last free Pagan tribes of the Baltic peoples; and their struggles with Christian invaders throughout the thirteenth century. These tales of ancient tribal Latvia and its Heathen tradition were to be expanded upon in 1998 with SKYFORGER's first full-length album, 'Kauja pie Saules' ('The Battle of Saule'). Later, in 2000, the band followed with their third release, the First World War themed album 'Latvian Riflemen'.
In 2003 the world saw the release of 'Thunderforge', which was a fine return to their old themes of ancestral culture and Heathen gods. The next album in line, recorded also in 2003, was the 'Sword Song', - an album of purely acoustic Latvian Folk music and a long coming tribute to their ancient forefathers' heritage.
SKYFORGER spent next few years working on a conceptual album about the legendary Latvian folk hero, Kurbads. The album, similarly entitled 'Kurbads', was published worldwide via American label Metal Blade Records, and was chosen as best Metal album at Latvian Music Awards ceremony in 2010.
SKYFORGER released their latest opus 'Senprūsija' ('Old Prussia') in 2015 on Thunderforge Records. This album tells about old Baltic Prussian tribes, their mythology, life and death. Album was supported by three years of touring across the Europe, visiting 20 countries in total. 'Senprūsija' was voted as best Rock & Metal album at the annual Latvian Music industry Awards "Golden Microphone" 2015.
Through the years, the band has been busy on festival stages all over Europe, has performed also in USA and South America, and SKYFORGER is well known for their non-compromising live performances.
At the moment, band is actively working on a new album with a tentative release date in spring of 2025.
