About this concert
Op 27 juli 2021 stond onze wereld stil… we hadden net vernomen dat een goede vriend overleden was, een enorme leegte bleef achter. Na de eerste zware weken opperden we met enkele vrienden het idee om hem jaarlijks te herdenken en door de droeve toeval van het lot ook zijn verjaardag te vieren. Van het een kwam het ander en zo hebben we op 30 juli 2022 voor de eerste maal “Bossierock” georganiseerd, kleinschalig voor vrienden, familie en collega’s. Door het succes van de eerste editie en de vraag om dit te blijven doorzetten, stond de tweede editie gepland op 29/07/2023, wederom een groot succes.
Onze volgende editie staat gepland op 26/07/2024 en zal opnieuw openbaar zijn, met een brede diversiteit aan bands en artiesten. Het festival is bedoeld voor jong en oud, met een gezellig buitenterras en een kidscorner voorzien van een luchtkasteel en kindergrime. De potentiële opbrengst van ons festival gaat naar Fonds Bossierock ten voordele van UZA Foundation.

Bards and Beards Biography
Bards and Beards emerged in 2017 when a group of seasoned musicians came together, united by their passion for ‘authentic’ music. Their desire to explore acoustic music and embrace new challenges led to the formation of a four-piece band. A year later, they realized something was missing and sought out that extra touch.
Specializing in Irish and Scottish folk, their music is performed acoustically with a special focus on traditional Celtic instruments. Rooted in Nijlen, they aim to blend classic Irish songs with lesser-known, poetic pieces that have endured through the centuries in what is arguably Europe’s most musical country. In recent years, they have also started to introduce more original songs, some of which have been featured on their debut album. The atmosphere of Irish pubs is vividly brought to life in all their songs.
