Who we are
Discophonic Orchestra is a 30-piece powerhouse of live disco energy, based in the Netherlands. With lush strings, a blazing horn section, tight rhythm, and seven sensational vocalists, we bring the golden age of '70s and '80s disco to life—live, loud, and larger than ever.
What’s going on
In 2024, we celebrated our 10th anniversary with a sold-out theater tour and the release of our first live LP. Now, we’re hitting the road again with our all-new Disco Inferno – Celebration Edition show, performing across top Dutch venues like Effenaar, 013 Tilburg, Muziekgieterij Maastricht, and Metropool Enschede.
A little background
Founded in 2014 by musical director and arranger Lex van Wel, Discophonic Orchestra was born out of a deep love for disco’s rich musicality and showmanship. Inspired by the legendary Philly Sound, our arrangements stay true to the originals—groovy, cinematic, and irresistibly danceable.
