About this concert
From November 19 to December 10, 2024, De Laatste Showband will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a party tour, with special guests Ian McCulloch of Echo & the Bunnymen, BJ Scott and Rick de Leeuw.
On November 1, 1999, Woestijnvis made national Belgian TV history. For the first time, the VRT programmed a daily late night talk show on the first network. Patrick Riguelle & Jan Hautekiet provided the music, so the core team was already operational to shape the music for the new talk show. The list of artists who passed by is as diverse as it is impressive. Followed by: Toots Thielemans, Tom Robinson, Zap Mama, Randy Newman, Tom Jones, Coolio, Ike Turner, PJ Harvey, Buffalo Tom, André Hazes, Steve Wynn, Emmylou Harris, Moby, Michelle Shocked, Joan Osborne, Chris Spedding, Jim Kerr, Ray Davies, Suzanne Vega, The Pointer Sisters, Arno, Maceo Parker, Jools Holland, .... The list is endless. On November 11, 2009, something very special happened. Sting came to talk about his new album, was not supposed to play with the band, but through a wonderful pass from basketball player Dennis Rodman, he eventually walked to the stage to play an impromptu version of Message in a Bottle and to express his admiration for the band and especially its bass player. The band took flight that day and the rehearsed final number was scrapped. Now, 25 years later, De Laatste Showband looks back on a quarter century of musical playing pleasure with a short but intense theatre tour with 3 international guests. A special guest was always Ian McCulloch of Echo & the Bunnymen, who gave his first and indelible act de presence on 7 April 2003. A deep and sincere friendship grew with the band, and he came to the show several times.

● Chris Peeters (guitar, vocals)
● Jan Hautekiet (keyboards)

On December 10th there will be "The Finale" in the Antwerp Schouwburg with extra guests: Alex Agnew, Tom Barman (ov), Milow (ov), Maaike Cafmeyer and Bruno Wyndaele.

Fantastic show! Superb band! Will Sergeant is one of the GOATs. Ian or Mac whichever version you get is incoherent at times and also Smashing! Very special to get to see Adam Peters play his cello with them, I won’t forget that for sure. Great mix of songs, would have loved to hear 1-2 tracks from Electafixion, but maybe another time. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the incredibly dark stage and blinding blue led’s facing the crowd and far too much fog. I also must include one other treat was watching guitarist Gordy Goudie “Simple Minds” rip it up..
