Uncured Biography
Uncured is an explosive, uncompromising Nu Metalcore 4-piece from New Jersey, USA, featuring brothers Rex Cox (vocals and guitar) and Zak Cox (lead guitar), drummer "King Z" Zachary King, and bassist Betto Andrade. Uncured began touring in 2017 and has performed over 300 shows in 14 countries with top acts such as Bad Omens, Jinjer, Whitechapel and Lacuna Coil, just to name a few. Recent festival appearances include Welcome to Rockville, Inkcarceration, Rock Fest, Bloodstock (UK) and Summer Breeze (Germany).
Uncured released its new full-length album WARPATH on February 21, 2025. The new album showcases the band’s exceptional musicianship and intensity with songs that are controversial, insightful, and unapologetically angry. On the date of its release, WARPATH was the #1 Most Added LP on the NACC College Heavy Radio charts and the #2 Most Added LP on the Metal Contraband Radio Charts. Reviews of WARPATH have been consistently positive. KERRANG! stated “New Jersey nu-metalcore mob Uncured show their might on debut album WARPATH,”calling it an album “that certainly lives up to its name,” and describing it as a “brutal demonstration of nu-metalcore in action – Uncured have announced themselves in rigorous fashion.”
Warpath’s first single “Mask of Sanity” was released on July 12, 2024. The song reached Top 40 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart and Top 40 on the Mediabase Active Rock Chart. In its first week, “Mask of Sanity” was featured on Sirius XM Octane Test Drive. Warpath’s second single “Manifesto” was released on August 22, 2024. "Manifesto" reached Top 25 on Metal Contraband Radio and Top 25on NACC Heavy Radio. On October 22, 2024, Uncured released a cover of “Closer,” a wild reimagining of Nine Inch Nail’s industrial hit. “Closer” debuted on Loudwire Nights national radio and Sirius XM Liquid Metal’s Corridor of Cover’s radio program.
Uncured's 2023 single "Let's Break Out" debuted in March on the Billboard Top 40 Mainstream Rock Chart at #38 and reached #13 on the SMR Active Rock Chart. Uncured's 2023 single "Fight This War" reached #5 on the Metal Radio Chart, and their cover of Linkin Park's "One Step Closer" is currently in rotation on Sirius XM Liquid Metal.
