Love this intimate venue. Love holly and Jess and the band. Terrific night. A couple of times the sound got a little muddy and we lost their gorgeous voices. The venue stops music at about 9:30. I could have used 2-3 more tunes. But overall wonderful!!

Lucius Biography

ormed by lead vocalists and songwriters Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig, acclaimed indie-pop band Lucius is best known for their sinuous harmonies and highly-original, pop-noir musical artistry. The group, which includes multi-instrumentalists Peter Lalish and Dan Molad, have released four albums, and toured the globe, cultivating a passionate following for their ingenious art-pop creations and electric live performances. The gifted melodicists and songwriters bring a startling level of musicianship to Lucius — which is evident in the astounding talent they’ve collaborated with over the course of their prolific 17-year career.

Lucius’ latest single “Old Tape”, featuring The War on Drugs’ Adam Granduciel, is filled with their signature dream-pop sound and enticing harmonies. The release adds to a notable series of years for Lucius following the release of 2022’s album, Second Nature. Produced by Brandi Carlile and Dave Cobb, the record was released to overwhelming acclaim with Variety declaring, “with Second Nature… they’re no longer 20 feet or even a couple of yards from stardom, but re-claiming the spotlight for themselves”. Second Nature included “Next to Normal,” one of NPR Music’s top songs of the year, and the sparkling disco-gemmed “Dance Around It,” featuring Carlile and Sheryl Crow.

Just before the release of "Old Tape”, Lucius celebrated the 10-year anniversary of their iconic debut album, Wildewoman, with the release of Wildewoman (The New Recordings) — an expanded version of the record that features new versions of the 12 original tracks, including collaborations with friends Carlile, Marcus Mumford and Devon Gilfillian.

In addition to their work with Lucius, the GRAMMY-nominated Wolfe and Laessig are among the most sought-after vocalists in popular music. The pair are members of Joni Mitchell’s famed “Joni Jam” crew and have graced songs by dozens of contemporary and legendary artists alike including: Carlile (with whom they earned three Grammy nominations), The War on Drugs, John Legend, The Killers, Harry Styles, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Black Pumas, Jeff Tweedy, Ozzy Osbourne and more.
