About this concert
Cat Ryan is the musical creation of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mary-Anne Murphy alongside band mates Jake (lead guitar), Charlie (drums) and Dan (bass/keys). The band made a distinctive & lasting impression on their home city of Newcastle upon Tyne when they released their debut single ‘Mannerism’ in March 2020.
The band’s unique brand of Art-Rock/Indie-Pop, influenced by the likes of Vampire Weekend and Hippo Campus has earned them acclaim, featuring on BBC Radio 1, Radio 6 and Radio X, and has seen them grace the main stage at Y Not Festival, as well as play Truck Festival, Bingley Weekender, Belladrum Festival, and others, as well as - more recently - support Sundara Karma at their sold out Newcastle show.
The band’s upward trajectory has continued gaining momentum, seeing the band announced to play a DIY x Kilimanjaro show in Newcastle whilst being booked to play festivals such as Stockton Calling, A Stone’s Throw and Coast Fest.
Cat Ryan’s long-awaited EP led by the captivating and infectious single ‘Rex Mundi’, showcases an eclectic mix of melodic innovation and thematic depth, solidifying their position at the forefront of the emerging indie music scene.
