Holly Tucker Biography
Holly Tucker, who has been called the Angel of Texas Country Music, is tenaciously proving that great things are worth the wait.
After winning the hearts of millions of television viewers in 2013 on Season 4 of NBC’s hit music reality show, The Voice, Holly is leaving her boot print all over Texas Country Music and with fans worldwide.
Holly’s musical roots run deep and wide. Holly is the youngest of 3 children born to Johnny and Cheryl Tucker, founders of the 80’s Christian band, Revised Edition. Holly grew up singing in church and performing on various stages at opries, fairs, churches and festivals around Texas. From the young age of 14, Holly began her career as a recording artist. Her discography includes:
Her first full-length album entitled “It’s About Time” (2007)
A 4-song EP entitled “For You” (2008)
A second full-length album, "Love is What She Likes" (2010)
A 3-song EP entitled “Something to Be Said” (2011)
Her breakout, full-length independent album, “Steel” (2016)
Her current, two-part independent album, “You’re Gonna Know My Name” (2019)
In 2013, she rose to the Top 6 out of 40,000 hopeful auditioners. Holly, on Team Blake Shelton, was one of only 7 contestants that season to receive an impressive “4-chair-turn”.
Her voice has been described by Coach Blake as “the most effortless, accurate, and powerful voice he’s ever heard”, and is one of Texas Country Music Association’s most recent Female Vocalist of the Year.
She has also earned awards from the ETX Music Office for:
2017 Female Vocalist of the Year
2017 Song of the Year & Music Video of the Year for her hit song, “You’re In Texas”
2018 Album of the Year for “Steel”
CMA of Texas “2018 Rising Star”
Steel (2016), full of its award-winning singles, was Holly’s first full length album release since The Voice. Since her time on the show, Holly has played well-over 800 venues throughout Texas, the US, and even multiple countries overseas such as Uganda, Africa. With her focus on the Texas red-dirt country music scene, Holly has released two independent records, including Steel and You’re Gonna Know My Name (Part 1, 2019), and eight singles to Texas radio - all of which charted in the tops of the three major Texas radio charts: Texas Regional Radio Report (TRRR), the Texas Country Music Chart (TCMC) and the CDX Traction Texas Chart, including:
“Wax Paper Cups” (feat. Ray Johnston of the Ray Johnston Band)
“You’re in Texas” (Jenee Fleenor, Wayne Nance, Holly Tucker)
“Dallas On Your Boots” (Jay DeMarcus, Lucie Silvas, Caitlyn Smith)
“The Finer Things” (Brian Carper, Alex Dooley, Stewart Halcomb, Holly Tucker)
“Country Music Won’t Let Me” (Buddy Owens, Logan Tucker, Holly Tucker)
“Take Me Fishin’” (Holly Tucker, Adam Wheeler)
“Rhythm of You” (Paul Sikes, Holly Tucker, Adam Wheeler)
“Rose In The Red Dirt” (Lee Black, Holly Tucker, Adam Wheeler)
Holly also has well over 1 MILLION Spotify streams to her name!
Holly has both headlined and shared the stage with many well-loved and respected artists such as Shenandoah, Terri Clark, Tracy Byrd, Willie Nelson, Restless Heart, Linda Davis, Clint Black, Curtis Grimes, Sundance Head, Deryl Dodd, Sam Riggs, Deana Carter, Neal McCoy, Parker McCollum, Randy Rogers Band, Koe Wetzel, and many others.
“Being an artist in the music industry is not for the faint of heart - there are days and moments it can absolutely wreck you emotionally, and you wonder why you keep putting yourself through it. I’ve had some of my darkest times because of music-related situations, obstacles, and relationships. But - if you live and breathe it, can’t imagine ever doing anything else, don’t have a plan B, and know without a shadow of a doubt that it’s your God-given life’s calling - then even in your lowest moments, that knowledge constantly fuels the fire within and brings confidence and peace.” - Holly
In her personal time, Holly, her husband Spencer and their Mini Australian Shepherd, Maverick, enjoy time at home and with family and going on walks together. She is very passionate about health and strength training, and helping lead worship on the praise team at her home church in Waco, First Woodway.
Holly also has a huge heart for helping others and giving back. She has engaged with several non-profit organizations including: The American Heart Association, Meals on Wheels and Fuzzy Friends Waco. In 2017, after Hurricane Harvey swept through Texas leaving Houston and nearby coastal cities and towns in ruins, Holly launched her own “Martin Goes To Harvey” Campaign, collecting fellow country artists’ signatures on a beautiful new Martin guitar, which she then raffled, raising thousands of dollars for relief efforts. Holly also does various speaking engagements, and makes regular visits to area hospitals, businesses, and schools, inspiring others with her music, strong values, genuine conversation, and musical journey.
