Pascal Schumacher Biography
Pascal Schumacher is a highly regarded musician and composer, celebrated for his expertise on the vibraphone. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Francesco Tristano, Bachar Mar-Khalifé, Sylvain Rifflet, Jef Neve, Kenny Barron, Magic Malik, Verneri Pohjola, and Nils Frahm. His compositions, which extend into theater, dance, and film, blend emotional classical themes with minimalist electronic sounds. However, Schumacher himself sees genre labels as outdated, viewing music as an expansive and limitless art form.
Currently, Schumacher is focused on two distinct live projects. The first is a duo with pianist Danae Dörken, where they delve into the musical universe of Philip Glass in their program "GLASS TWO." The second is a band called Singülar, a trio featuring Sebastian Studnitzky and Edward Perraud.
With 12 albums released under his name, Pascal Schumacher is exclusively signed to Berlin's 'Neue Meister' label and is recognized as a Yamaha Artist. He also serves as a Professor of Jazz at the Conservatoire de Musique de Luxembourg.
