Van Der Aven Biography
Van Der Aven is an Afrikaans alternative rock band based in Cape Town, South Africa. The musical trio of Paul Avenant, Theunis van der Merwe and Roelof van der Merwe have been making music and sharing stories since late 2016.
The three members are all originally from the Great Karoo (Beaufort West and Murraysburg), and their sound is primarily influenced and inspired by it.
Together, they combine their three-part vocals and a multitude of instruments, including guitar, ukulele, bass, harmonica and drums, to create upbeat music with lyrics that always tell a story.
