About this concert
The Koi Fish are headlining their first show this year at The Catfish to promote their upcoming release - The Koi Fish EP. They will be joined by special guests Calling George and Dear Matilda. They have been working hard behind the scenes and are excited to get their songs out there and put on a good show! The Koi Fish are a Melbourne-based surf rock band from the eastern suburbs who combine 60's surf rock with 2000's garage rock. Their Strokes inspired sound blends nicely with their love for vintage surf rock. The band's fast paced songs utilize driving drums and bass paired with vintage guitar tones. Their style ranges from fast, aggressive and hard hitting to mid tempo, softer songs with soothing melodies.

Calling George Biography

Hailing from Naarm/Melbourne, Calling George is the perfect blend of Australian Indie, Garage Rock, and Modern Surf. Formed in 2024 by Sam Heydon (Vocals/Guitar/Uke), with childhood pals Zac Levit (Bass), Tom Henderson (Guitar) and Zac Milverton (Drums) the band crafts infectious tunes that don't take themselves too seriously.

Inspired by inner-city vibes and coastal living, their jangly guitars and honest lyrics define a sound that's unmistakably theirs. With new releases like "Kettle" and "Bottles" (2024) and a hotly anticipated (mostly by them) E.P. dropping soon, Calling George is all about having a good time, dancing, taking yourself a little less seriously and inviting you along for the ride.

So give them a listen, even better, come see them live.
