About this concert
Lee Scott & Black Josh do Australia & New Zealand Blah records heavy hitters Lee Scott and Black Josh are without a doubt two of the most formidable underground lyricists in the underground UK hip hop scene. With an undeniable cult following that spans across the globe, this pair are setting out to give the south pacific a taste of the dark and witty madness they are known so well for bringing. Lee Scott AKA Leezus reps a uniquely intelligent style of “Gonzo Lyricism” sharp, hard hitting, fuckin hilarious. Co founder of the legendary BLAH records, Lee has achieved absolute don status with a long and impressive history of contributions to the UK rap world with over fifty releases across his discography. Hailed as a "Manchester cult hero" and a "lyrical maverick” Black Josh has been part of some HUGE rap groups: Cult of the Damned, Levelz and The Mouse Outfit to name a few. With a solid mix of high energy and low pace head nod tunes, Josh is easily one of the best at what he does. Joining them will be Pang Productions staples Joe Snow and Must Volkoff as well as local support in every city. Tickets for these shows are likely to disappear quick so don't sleep.

Lee Scott Biography

Lee Scott is an English rapper, author, producer, and co-founder of record label Blah Records.

Lee has worked with Jehst, SonnyJim, Your Old Droog, Heems, Cool Calm Pete, Breeze Brewin, Tame One, Homeboy Sandman amongst others.

Lee has been a member of many rap groups and crews since 2003. These include Cult Mountain, Children (later Cult) of the Damned, Mcabre Brothers and more. He has been described as 'an integral part of Hip-Hop in Britain' and in early 2020 Red Bull selected Blah Records as one of its 'seven UK-based independent labels worth shouting about'. Media figures have noted Lee's ability to promote his and his label's music through limited edition releases and merchandise.

Musically, reviewers have praised his albums for their 'thick layers of peculiarity' with 'contradictory and self depreciating satire'. Anthony Fantano, of The Needle Drop, called his 2015 High Focus release Butter Fly 'thought provoking, playful, absurd and cynical while pulling jabs at pop culture' and a 'thinking man's hip hop record'.

In 2020 Lee once again collaborated with Jehst, this time under the name GROUP. Their first EP, entitled 1, featured London's Lord Apex. One reviewer called the project "refreshing, profound and emotionally astute".

Lee's debut novel, Swan Songs, was published on 14 December 2021 through Repeater Books.
