Covering a huge range of styles from fiery Sambas, Bossa Nova, Baião and everything in-between, Laura Doyle’s Baiana evokes the spirit of the Brazilian greats such as Elza Soares, Gal Costa, Elis Regina and the romantic torch singers of the 40s and 50s, whilst bringing her own unique voice to life through the beautiful original songs.

Dubbed “the band we are all obsessed about” (Deb Grant, BBC 6 Music) Baiana (pronounced By-Anna) is the Brazilian- inspired project of sensational artist Laura Doyle.
Baiana have been wowing fans across the country with their acclaimed debut album produced by legendary Latin percussionist Snowboy.
Featuring a first-class line-up of Europe’s leading jazz musicians, their thrilling live show has been described as “Outstanding” (Robbie Vincent, Jazz FM) and “a proper wow factor performance” (John Osbourne, Solar Radio).
Covering a huge range of styles from fiery Sambas, Bossa Nova, Baião and everything in-between, Laura Doyle’s Baiana evokes the spirit of the Brazilian greats such as Elza Soares, Gal Costa, Elis Regina and the romantic torch singers of

A hugely popular draw at Love Supreme and the Ealing Jazz festival, Baiana supported Brazilian mega-star Gilberto Gil on his UK tour. Singles from their eponymous debut album spent an unprecedented 30 weeks on Jazz FM’s A-List as well as being played by BBC 6 Music DJs such as Gilles Peterson and Chris Hawkins.
