About this concert
Armi Millare is a Filippino singer/songwriter formerly a part of the electronic-rock band Up Dharma Down or UDD, as their devoted fan base in Asia calls them. Since 2006, she has released three albums with her band and toured extensively worldwide (including Asia, the Middle East, the US and Canada). The BBC tagged them as the “Asian band most likely to cross over North American shores”, while Time Magazine has called the band’s music “genre-defying” as well as “both thoughtful and sensual.” Her work with the band has garnered critical praise from artists such as Tim Bowness of No Man, Curt Smith of Tears for Fears, and a collaborative track with Scotland’s Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile. Join Armi Millare on June 1st at 19 East Bar for a pleasent evening with good vibes. Unless mentioned otherwise, a non-consumable admission fee is payable upon entry. No table charge. No minimum consumable charge. Doors open at 7pm. Shows start around 9pm. Reservation is not allowed. Seating is first-come, first-served. No age limit.

Armi Millare Biography

Armi Millare is a singer/songwriter and producer known for some of the last decade’s biggest hits in the Filipino vernacular.

In 2017, she launched Startup Series, where she plays her unreleased tracks and the beloved hits she has written, in new cities, and kicked it off in Berlin and the UK. Stoa Sound, the music-producing body of Stoa Studios founded by Millare, launched in 2018 writing original music for film, animation and other media, preserving the same vision and attention to detail as the multi-disciplinary brand.

After her departure from UDD in 2021, Armi Millare is now planning her solo debut album for a 2024 release. The future-soul album entitled South Node is digging into the late 90s/2000s contemporary pop R&B and will include the new single “Roots”. “This album would be a testament to how I wanted to be a songwriter at a young age, a time when artists wrote music focused on real songs aching to tell stories you just know are true and given that opportunity to do that now, I’m going to keep going doing what I know—probably the only thing I know to do.”
