Performing in and selling out the UK and Europe’s top jazz venues including New Morning, Ronnie Scott’s and Pizza Express Jazz Club, the Joe Nichols led outfit have firmly established themselves as a major force in UK jazz and an increasingly prominent voice in the European jazz scene. Nimbus Sextet’s albums – Dreams Fulfilled (2020) and Forward Thinker (2022) – were both released on the legendary Acid Jazz label. Championed by Jazz FM, they have garnered international acclaim from the likes of Jazzwise, Clash Magazine, RFI, Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 Music among many others. As part of their UK summer tour, Nimbus Sextet will perform music from their hotly anticipated third album, due for release later in the year. Special guest vocalists Russell Stewart and lissappear (who appeared on the band’s recent Jazz FM A-listed version of Roy Ayers’ Searching) and trombonist/vocalist Christopher Small will join the band for their Glasgow Jazz Festival appearance at NiceNSleazy. “Joe Nichols sets Nimbus Sextet firmly apart from their UK jazz peers.
