About this concert
The Choctaw people have gathered on the grounds of the Choctaw Capitol for many years during the Labor Day weekend to celebrate family, fellowship together and to honor Choctaw traditions. Enjoy cultural events like stickball games and the princess contest, concerts, arts and crafts, a free 5k run and much more! As in Labor Days past, the weekend schedule is packed full of events to accommodate those who enjoy sporting events, traditional events like gourd dancing, princess pageants, or just family time on the grounds. Join us Sunday for Church services and stay for the all-day Chahta gospel singing. Our Labor Day weekend will be a great experience for everyone as we fellowship together and honor our Choctaw traditions.

I always love going to see my favorite artists in small towns since they usually put on better shows than they do in big cities, and they didn’t disappoint with this one! There’s a big festival that’s similar to this in Kansas, OK, but it’s only 1 day long and is much, much smaller. But I say it’s similar because they also get great artists over there. This was almost identical to that festival except you didn’t have to bring your own seats and it had shade above us without having to hold an umbrella. I can’t wait for next year!

Casting Crowns Biography

Casting Crowns is a Christian band that employs a soft rock music style. The band was created by youth pastor Mark Hall who also serves as a lead vocalist. The band previously served and performed in a youth group in Atlanta.

Discovered by, among others, contemporary Christian music legend Steven Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns got a recording contract and vaulted to popularity in 2003 with songs such as If We Are The Body and Who Am I.

Before Casting Crowns was created they were known as New Life Rookies which split into two bands, one being Casting Crowns and the other a smaller band South Avenue.
