Low Poly Cactus

Low Poly Cactus (LPC for short) is a 6 piece Jazz-Fusion Funk band based in Los Angeles. LPC is a collective of session/touring musicians brought together by friendship, funky music and many memes. The band performs original music by keyboardist, producer PRNDL and trumpeter, vocalist Mahealane along with their favorite Jazz standards and cool Pop/R&B rearrangements. Collectively, the individual musicians have performed with many artists for many festivals over the years including Coachella, Bonnaroo, One Fine Day, One Love, Outside Lands and SXSW.

the story:
The leader of the cactus crew is Adam Rochelle aka PRNDL, who moved out to LA with longtime friend, bassist and bandmate Johnnie Gilmore in 2018. They started jamming with Nate Taitano at a monthly gig in Koreatown. Ruthtrumpets aka Mahealane arrived in LA in 2017 and was establishing herself in the Jazz/Pop scene, writing songs and meeting lots of musicians. Eventually, PRNDL, Nate, Johnnie and Mahealane in different bands played a show together, started hanging out, jamming together. PRNDL produced music for Mahealane that eventually led to their first collaborative EP release, Space Jams, the single, “Dolphun” featuring sax player Yuval Sorkin and San Fernando Laser Tag, an album that led to the debut of the 6 piece band now called Low Poly Cactus. Michael Vokes aka stratty daddy joined via finding the San Fernando album to his liking and a few mutual friends later became a beloved part of Low Poly Cactus.
