About this concert
CONCERT AND FILMING: Kingsbridge Cookworthy Museum - DEVON - 22nd June 2024 Those of you who know my music will know that I have composed and recorded a song about Elizabeth Prettejohn who survived the Hallsands Tragedy in which an entire village fell into the sea as a result of dredging and greed. On 22nd June I will be collaborating with Kingsbridge Cookworthy Museum who house a Hallsands Tragedy collection, to stage a concert and to film the song the following day. If you would like to come along then all the details can be found on the poster either in the comments or as part of the below montage. You can get tickets (including a ploughman's supper) by emailing or calling the museum: 01548 853235 or hello@kingsbridgemuseum.org.uk

Wonderful gig by multi—instrumentalist Katie Grace Harris at The Carpenters Arms, Miserden last night, as always a delightful selection of story songs with accompanying back story, often evolving and augmented by information gleaned from the audience 😊 lots of audience participation including use of the spoons! Lol.. anyone would think she is a music teacher 🥳😁

Katie Grace Harris Biography

Katie Grace Harris made her Folk debut at an early age.

'While travelling in a rusty Triumph Toledo and accompanied only by my Dad, we would sing songs from Joni Mitchell, The Spinners, Ralph McTell and James Taylor' she says.

It's no doubt that these early experiences have influenced the sound that she makes today which can best be described as earthy, piano accompanied English Folk; gentle new arrangements of traditional songs alongside raw and exposed original compositions which draw attention to historic stories with a smattering of social justice to temper the mix. Katie has turned her hand to a variety of instruments including Piano, Whistles, Piano Accordion and Shruti. Katie can mostly be spotted playing solo or with various musicians around the folk clubs of the UK.
