Always Olivia Tribute

A nationally-touring tribute to one of the most-beloved pop culture icons of the seventies and eighties will light up the Blue Gate Theater in Shipshewana for one night only on June 29th. Always Olivia is a musical salute to the iconic Olivia Newton-John who sold over 100 million records worldwide, had five #1 singles, fifteen Top 10 Billboard Chart hits, earned 4 Grammys, and starred as Sandy with John Travolta in Grease - a role which catapulted her to superstardom. The show stars Annie Aiello, who has an uncanny knack for capturing the authentic essence of Olivia's timeless music. At the age of 7, Annie’s parents bought her Newton-John’s album, Have You Never Been Mellow, and she was instantly captivated. Since then, Annie has made a study of the singer’s music and created the Always Olivia stage production featuring an all-star band of musicians. Her recent tour included stops in Illinois, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Connecticut, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Florida, capturing sold-out audiences of all ages along the way. She’s even caught the attention of some of the legendary singer’s original crew. Skip Griparis, who played with Olivia in the seventies, commented, “Annie perfectly captures Olivia’s voice and spirit! When I close my eyes, I feel as if Liv is standing right next to me.” On May 10th, it was announced that Always Olivia was nominated for 2024 Tribute Artist of the Year by the Josie Music Awards, which will take place at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennesee this October. Audiences in attendance at the Blue Gate can expect a multi-media experience featuring Olivia's memorable hits spanning the seventies to the present day including: “Hopelessly Devoted,” “You're The One That I Want,” “Physical,” “Magic,” “Xanadu,” “If You Love Me Let Me Know,” and many more. Annie and her band cover five decades of Olivia's music, dialogue about Newton-John's musical career, humor, audience participation, costume changes and video projection with stimulating visuals. The connection doesn’t end there, though. Aiello also donates a portion of the proceeds from every Always Olivia tribute show to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre.
