15th Annual SubZERO Festival
Focused on emerging and present subcultures thriving in our region, SubZERO is a DIY, artistically bent, hi/lo-techno mashup where street meets geek. Come downtown on June 7th & 8th to San Jose's SoFA District from 5pm 'til 11pm for an inspired evening of arts & culture. In addition to the South FIRST FRIDAYS monthly art walk you'll find outdoor stages of entertainment plus artists, performers & musicians celebrating the indie creative spirit!

The Spiral Electric are a heavy psychedelic rock band from San Francisco, bringing a mixture of roaring guitars and orbiting synthesizer not heard this side of the galaxy since HAL 9000 dropped acid with Brian Jones and Tony Iommi in the windmills of your mind.

The Spiral Electric Biography
The Spiral Electric have been a part of the San Francisco psychedelic rock firmament since 2011, bringing a striking combination of dark psychedelia and visceral passion, described by The Obelisk as "a band ready, willing, and able to space the hell out", who "bridge the generally disparate realms of heavy psych and riffer heavy rock".
They have toured the US west coast many times, from Seattle to Long Beach, played notable festivals like Desert Stars (Joshua Tree, CA), Starry Nites (Santa Barbara, CA), Sub Zero (San Jose, CA), Portland Psych Fest (Portland, OR), the Haight-Ashbury Street Fair (San Francisco, CA), and Gathering of the Tribes (San Francisco).
They have played with bands like King Buffalo, Dead Meadow, Black Mountain, The Kills, Stöner, Yawning Man, Spindrift, Swervedriver, Here Lies Man, The Dandy Warhols, The Asteroid No.4, Ringo Deathstarr, New Candys, Turn Me On Dead Man, Mondo Drag, and Lumerians.
Their catalogue includes three releases-- from debut Upon Your Shore and second album Ask the Sky (both recorded with Tommy Dietrick of SKY PARADE), to their most recent-- titled simply The Spiral Electric, a double-album (recorded with Steve Kille of Dead Meadow).
The band currently consists of founding members and songwriters Clay Andrews (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards) and Nicolas Percey (Guitar), with Matias Drago (Drums), and Ryan McKnight (Bass). A new album is in the works, with Steve Kille again at the helm, for a 2024 release.
