About this concert
Weirdshire is a collective of musical and visual artists who curate alternative folk, psych, drone, experimental gigs in Herefordshire and beyond.
Sharron Kraus' musical career has pulled her in many directions and seen her collaborate with numerous artists, poets and writers. She is an intuitive improviser, a compelling performer and weaver of musical spells. She recasts and tenderly cherishes the folk tradition. Tonight she will be performing songs and stories from her album 'Friends and Enemies; Lovers and Strangers', inspired by the Welsh folk tales of the Mabinogi. Alula Down is the project of Herefordshire couple Kate Gathercole and Mark Waters. They explore stories of people and landscapes through folk song, field recordings and textures created by drone, repetition, experimental instrumentation and haunting vocals. Mark Stevenson is Ledbury's own folk troubadour, singer, poet, bodhran and whistle player who captivates with his voice and stories. With visuals from Nick Mash and Vinyl from DJ Jus'Jay.
