About this concert
Raphael strips the story of Joseph from the Old Testament of religious connotations and retells it in the light of his own experience: his father's rejection. He switches elegantly between borderline humor and deep emotions, while reflecting on still current, universal themes with the age-old story. With live music by Erik Sjøholm.
It all started with a dream about Joseph from the Old Testament. With the desire to understand his dream, Raphael decides to tell Joseph's story. But who wants to tell the story of a saint? Saints are boring, aren't they? How can one tell the story of such a flawless character? In his attempt to tell it, Raphael strips the story of its religious connotations, and seeks to understand it in the light of his own life. One image leads to another in an honest and raw spiral, which leads to one fundamental question: “Why are we so afraid of the light?”
