The Watch Biography
The Watch is a five-member band from Milan, Italy, whose music is inspired by the classic progressive rock of the 1970s and in particular the music of Genesis.
Since 2001, they have released eight studio albums. Their seventh studio album 'Seven' also featured Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett. Melody and energy are the main characteristics of their music and live performances their strong point.
Their "The Watch plays Genesis" live shows are devoted to Genesis albums from 1970 to 1977, covering the period from Trespass to Seconds Out.
The band's way of interpreting Genesis music has aroused enormous interest from fans of Genesis music and beyond, taking the band year after year on increasingly extensive tours throughout Europe and the UK as well as in the USA and Canada.
The dramatic Gabrielesque vocals of The Watch singer, closest ever to Peter Gabriel, and the all-round instrumental excellence of the band will give you the opportunity to hear some magnificent songs, like it was back in the days. No other group manages to capture the adventurousness and electricity of Genesis in their pioneering times with quite such raw emotion. Just close your eyes and there you are in the seventies!
Steve Hackett (Genesis lead guitarist) says: "The Watch is a band of very talented people and I recommend them."
Paul Whitehead (Genesis graphic artist): "The band who remind me most of the Genesis magic."
UK Prog Newsletter: "What's unique here are the vocals, so very similar to those of a young Peter Gabriel"
The Watch is: Simone Rossetti (lead vocals, flute, keyboards, synthesisers), Valerio De Vittorio (keyboards, synthesisers, guitars, vocals), Mattia Rossetti (bass, guitars, vocals), Francesco Vaccarezza (drums, percussion, vocals) and Andrea Giustiniani (lead guitars).
