Sue Harding Biography
Sue Harding was brought up in the wilds of the Cotswolds and now lives in Frome via Bath, Manchester and Wales where she read for an English Degree, qualified as a teacher and developed a love of traditional folk and roots music.
Sue began writing and playing her own songs after receiving a guitar for her 14th birthday. Over the years she developed her musicianship and created a body of work, influenced by 60s and 70s folk, country and blues music.
Her debut album, 'Flight', released in 2016, was recorded, engineered and mastered by Josh Clark of Get Real Audio (Kate Rusby). She then began work on the songs that would become 'Darkling’ during Lockdown in 2020/21…
“Darkling”, also produced by Josh Clark, reflects on a renewed connection to the English landscape and the late Victorian poems which inspire so many of the songs; exploring themes of loss, redemption, hope, joy and survival. Sue’s unique voice, range and heartfelt delivery creates a hauntingly beautiful sound. Her songs are delicate but powerful, full of a poetry and invention that never fails to enchant.
