Horns Plus Big Band

Horns Plus is a community band based in Lane Cove and has been running for over 20 years, performing at a variety of jazz festivals, private and corporate functions, charity fundraisers, and community events – including appearances at Manly Jazz in 2004 through 2009, 2015 to 2018, and again in 2022 and 2023. With a classic 19-piece big band line-up, Horns Plus showcase all styles of jazz, from big band swing through to contemporary big band numbers, R&B, Motown and jazz-rock arrangements.
Horns Plus is directed by renowned trumpet player Bob Coassin, who has been working with the band over the past several years. Bob has had a long career in the US, Europe and Australia, playing with some of the biggest names in music including Ray Charles, Buddy Rich, James Last, John Farnham, and James Morrison.
Featuring on vocals with the band is Meredith O’Reilly. A Helpmann & Green Room-nominated stage entertainer for over 30 years, Meredith’s wide-ranging professional career includes musical theatre, cabaret, TV, radio, and voiceover work.
