About this concert
Joslyn & The Sweet Compression - (Kasym Moldogaziev- Guitar, Isaac Stephens - Trumpet, Tyler Papierniak - bass, Rashawn Fleming - drums, Trevin Little - saxophone, and Sam Richardson - Keyboard) combine to deliver a hook-filled mix of funk and soul with a solid helping of groove. Monsterboy LIVES - Little Rock, AR Chris Long and Veronica Wirges are a husband-and-wife multi-instrumental duo based in Little Rock, AR. Their music blends indie pop with alternative blues rock, combining old and odd instrumentation with new production elements. Their live show is characterized by light-hearted banter and energy that reflects their 17 years of marriage. As members of the LGBT+ community, they navigate the intersection of two worlds in their music, exploring themes of happiness and connection in a binary-centric society. Their music resonates with hopeless romantics, band nerds, and creative spirits alike.

Monsterboy Lives Biography

Chris Long has always been in a rock band, fronting rock acts over the last decade. Veronica Wirges is a classically trained saxophonist and pianist, with a love for African tribal instrumentation. It is as odd of a match, musically, as you could marry. So that is what they did, quite literally. They met, fell in love, and said I do.

The couple didn't rush right into things, and it was over a decade into their honeymoon before fate pushed them into playing music together. What to expect? A bit of a Frankenstein's Monster, an alchemy of genres that somehow works together and has a life all its own. You'll hear synths, guitars, and saxophones, including a 100-year-old 5-foot-tall bass saxophone named Sweet Connie. You'll find their eclectic tastes reflected in the world percussion and EDM elements in their work. All to create an alternative rock sound steeped in the blues of the delta south.

Monsterboy LIVES music is about how two peculiar people, madly in love, are finding themselves and their way through this world together. Their journey speaks to hopeless romantics, band nerds, and creative spirits.
