Jay Aquarious Biography

Jay Aquarious is a soulful Pop/R&B Artist from Buffalo, NY, whose performances are layered with energy and charisma to make you dance, and make you think. He has been recording music since he was 18 years old. He is a lyricist, poet, a dancer, actor, and a performing artist. His music is highly influenced by Janet Jackson, TLC and Toni Braxton. He also performed as part of the Hip-Hop/EDM group Hooked on Casiophonics.

Jay creates music to inspire his fans to make positive changes in their lives. The smooth, sensual, and spiritual music he makes as an Independent Artist has opened new doors for him. Besides being recognized in The Buffalo News and The Public for his musical contributions, in 2020, he received an award for Best Hip-Hip/R&B Artist at the WNY Music Awards, his song "I Miss Us" was used in promotion of the horror film 'The Unhinged' in 2021, the previously unreleased music video to his song "Looking Back/Why Were We Friends?" premiered at SPARK: The Micro Film Fest.

Buffalo's popular blog Sneakvibing (mostly known for promoting Hip-Hop and R&B acts) is where his music video "Lips" was deemed Video of the Week, and both his songs "Maybe She's Just Too Hot" and "Love High" in effort for his latest EP 'The Great Vine' both on individual weeks were voted for Song of the Week. He was also asked to pay tribute to the late LGBTAIQ+ activist Madeline Davis (the first lesbian who urged the Democrats to stand for Gay Rights) at 'Mad-Fest' in 2022, her first tribute event after her passing, performing the first Gay Liberation Anthem "Stonewall Nation" in her honor, written and performed by Madeline, for her family and friends. He can also be heard on the theme song for the clothing store Trend Up with various other artists.

In effort to promote his latest EP, he put together an intimate showcase called 'Jay Aquarious Presents The Great Vine Experience!', performing an hour and half set for a sold-out crowd. Jay has been spending time as well developing as a model and as an actor. He started modeling for his own music in various photo shoots, making his way into fashion shows as a performer until 2022 where he also walked the runway for the first time during Buffalo New Generation’s fashion week, being one of the models to pay homage to Jefferson 10 and Black Wall Street in a 1920’s inspired look to start off the final show of the weekend which was on the day the United Nations declared as a day of recognition of victims of terrorism. When it comes to acting, he landed his start, co-starring in the upcoming horror film 'Kojo', slated to premiere in 2024.
