About this concert
Tom Sochas makes his debut appearance at the Institut français d’Écosse presenting some brand new mountain-inspired music recently composed out in the Arctic Circle off the coast of Norway which will feature on his up-coming album Facing North, as well as tunes from his previous critically acclaimed album, The Sorcerer. He’ll be joined by master bass player Theo Malka-Wishart and the inimitable Filippo Galli on drums. Influenced by the likes of Esbjorn Svennson, Brad Mehldau and Eyolf Dale, you can expect a blend of delicate contrapuntal melodies and hard-hitting grooves.
