About this concert
Rich in three part harmonies, Barney, Tom and Shari celebrate 15 years of performing and recording together with their customary humour, musicianship, great songwriting and camaraderie. These veteran and award winning songwriters will be joined by Kirby Barber on bass for this first this rare appearance on Saltspring Island. Shari Ulrich made Saltspring Island her home at the start of her solo career in 1978 until 1988. The trio is made up of the legendary award winning Barney Bentall, well known to Canadian audiences; Tom Taylor, a veteran of the band She Stole My Beer, and a solo songwriter, guitarist and performer; and Juno award winner, Shari Ulrich playing violin, mandolin, and guitar. All will be sharing their songs on the Artspring Stage on July 16, 2024. Tickets are going quickly.

Shari Ulrich Biography
Originally a California girl, long settled on the west coast of Canada, Shari celebrates close to 5 decades as a touring recording artist and multi-instrumentalist (violin, mandolin, piano, guitar, dulcimer, & harmonica). From Pied Pumkin through The Hometown Band, and on as a solo artist and multi-instrumentalist has lead to 25 albums – including her collaboration with solo artists Bill Henderson and Roy Forbes (UHF), Barney Bentall & Tom Taylor (BTU), and more recently The High Bar Gang, a 7 piece bluegrass band with Barney Bentall. Her work has garnered 2 Juno awards, several Juno nominations, an induction into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, and a 2014 CFMA for English Songwriter of the Year.
