Pete Roth Trio Biography

Pete Roth, a versatile artist and accomplished session guitarist, born in Germany, where his musical journey began in the heart of a family deeply rooted in music. At the age of 11, he picked up the guitar, setting the stage for a lifelong dedication to his craft.
In his formative years, Pete found inspiration in the raw emotion of blues and the electrifying energy of rock. However, his musical horizons expanded when he ventured to England to study jazz. There, he delved into the rich complexities of the genre, drawing influence from luminaries such as Joe Pass, John Schofield, and Julian Lage.
Equipped with a diverse array of influences and a passion for innovation, Pete embarked on a solo career as a leader, culminating in the recording of two albums under the banner of MGP Records.

One of the hallmarks of Pete’s career are the sessions with renowned artists across various genres. He has shared the stage with such illustrious names as Brian Dee (Miles Davis, Chet Baker), The London Gala Orchestra, Olivier Award-winning Maria Friedmann (Stephen Sondheim, Michel Legrand), Tim Sanders (Eric Clapton, The Who), Steve Bell (London Philharmonic) and Olivier Award-winning Michael Haslam among many others. Signed, since 2010, to MGP Records, Pete has extensively toured the UK and
Europe extensively with concerts ranging from Ronnie Scott’s to the Royal Festival Hall.

The Pete Roth Trio made up of Mike Pratt on bass and special guest Bill Bruford is not just a band; it's an unmissable experience that will leave a lasting impression.
Whether performing original compositions or re-imagining classics, the Trio consistently delivers a spellbinding performance in an unforgettable evening of musical brilliance.
The decision to start a new trio with bass and drums is an exciting development, affording the opportunity to explore new sounds and to experiment with different melodic and harmonic approaches.
This new-found freedom is a hallmark of Roth's music and is sure to delight fans of his previous works.
Pete has distinguished himself as a remarkable guitarist and composer with a career marked by innovation and artistic excellence. His mastery of the guitar, combined with a deep understanding of composition, results in a musical journey that is both technically dazzling and emotionally resonant.
