About this concert
Andrea Robertson has a voice like honey and a knack for making music that gets into your system and feels immediately like an old friend. Through a tasty fusion of blues, roots, folk, rock, alt-country and a whole lot of soul, this award-winning artist knows her craft well, and sure knows how to deliver a stellar performance for audiences. Her soul-stirring songwriting brings you home with her, to the waves crashing on her favourite beach, to enjoying a cup of tea in her sun-soaked backyard, to the beloved dog lying at her feet. 2024 has ushered in the physical release of ‘Seasons’ - a stunning, year-long, slow-release musical journey and her fourth independent release. Beginning in Autumn 2023 and coming to fruition in Summer of the same year, Andrea gifted us three new songs released with each change of seasons throughout 2023. ‘Seasons’ is being lauded as Andrea’s best body of work to date, and is truly a testament to resilience, creativity and the enduring power of music. Andrea and band are heading back to George Lane again this May, ready to share the love with her new music along with some tunes from her previous releases, and maybe a cover or two thrown in for a sing-along or a bit of fun. Andrea has supported the likes of Mia Dyson and Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows and also worked alongside and/or recorded with some industry greats including Sarah Carroll, Matiss Schubert, Tim Neal, Robert Calvert, and the late, great Chris Wilson - all of which is impressive. Take a listen to some of Andrea Robertson below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1kS_ncytcM&t=1s But there is so much more to this artist than just talent. Whether she's performing a stripped back acoustic set or with a full band, there is an honesty and openness to Andrea’s songwriting which is expressed in the most relatable story-telling way, ranging from delicate slow-burners that hit you right in the core through to rockier numbers that entice you to move. There is also an impressive string of awards, accolades and releases under her belt, with Andrea rightfully earning herself the reputation of being a humble, hard-working and inclusive artist. Her big heart along with a whole lot of soul is evident in everything she gets involved in. Special guest support act on the day is Sarah Carroll, The Ukulele Queen of The Bellarine.

Andrea Robertson Biography

Andrea Robertson has a knack for making music that gets into your system and feels immediately like an old friend. Through a tasty fusion of blues, roots, folk, rock and alt-country, Robertson brings you home with her, to the waves crashing on her favourite beach, to the beloved dog lying at her feet, to her incredibly talented family who often share the stage with her at shows.

Winner of the Queenscliff Music Festival’s Emerging Artist Grant (2017) along with an impressive string of other accolades and awards, Robertson has released two studio recordings, both of which feature the late, great Australian Blues Legend, Chris Wilson, and a stunning live album titled ‘Live At New Hall’. Her single release in 2021 (Timely Reminder) was a hauntingly beautiful reflection on the impacts of covid through an artists eyes.

Robertson has been busy in the studio again as she prepares for album #4. The long-awaited launch of her new EP - Seasons Volume 1 - is finally here. And music-lovers are not going to be disappointed. This first EP will be the first in a series of four EP releases over a twelve month period, each release coinciding with the change of seasons.
Autumn sees the ushering in of Seasons Volume 1 and with it, three stunning new songs.
At the end of the twelve month period when all EP’s have been released, the culmination of her beautiful new works will be a brand new album, making it album #4 in Andrea’s catalogue.

Robertson was born and bred in Geelong and calling the Bellarine Peninsula home for much of that time. She was raised on a diet of musical greats, including Fleetwood Mac, Aretha Franklin, Blondie and Dylan, sounds that echo through her music today.

Robertson has earned herself the reputation of being a humble, hard-working artist who knows how to put on a stellar show for audiences, firmly establishing herself as an accomplished artist on the Australian music scene. Her big heart along with a whole lot of soul is evident in everything she gets involved in.

Described as “an opus of positivity…lined with persistence and gratitude” [Beat], Robertson’s music encapsulates the modern Australian experience.

Andrea’s original material is fantastic, both traditional sounding and fresh, with her big heart and eye for human folly evident in her writing. Her voice is honestly beautiful and is offset by the raw sound of the band; quite an intoxicating blend.
[Sarah Carroll, Ukulele Queen of the Bellarine]

Super grounded and super talented, the flourishes throughout this tune make my day and Robertson's vocals are like a hot drink on a frosty morning.
[Nkechi Anele, Triple J review of I’d Like To Think]

Andrea’s shows always receive great feedback from the punters and the staff alike, with a big “please re-book” tick of approval from the owner.
[Cat Leahy, The Booking Stable]
Andrea is both a leader and a team player, and a talented singer, instrumentalist, and songwriter.
[Wayne Jury, Singer/Songwriter]
With a mix of folk and blues influences - Remind Myself is an album of twists and turns, from the upbeat songs that inspire toe tapping to the more ballad like songs heavy with emotions. This is an album by someone who knows who she is and wishes to share her story and sound with others, creating an endearing experience that is entirely her own.
