Syncretic Liturgy: A Service of Witness to The River
We are bringing back a congregation to Prophecy Hall for another righteous assembly that employs traditional customs to deviate from convention. As the sun returns, bringing us more and more light, we see more clearly our interconnectedness with all beings and our collective need for light, sustenance, and WATER. Let's spend an hour celebrating and revering the great estuary by which we reside through song, witness, and laughter. Like the mighty Hudson, this service will be brackish: a little smooth, a little salty; and all heart.
With energizing music brought to you by Annalyse & Ryan, Gavin Hecker, Gwen Laster, Damon Banks, Jeremy Schonfeld, Gus Schonfeld, and Semra Ecrin; a reading performed by the illustrious Twinkle Burke; a prophecy and even a sacrifice from powerhouses Joanna Castle Miller and Lisa Pertoso; a surprise ordainment; and a call to inspired action on how you can give back to your river, ensuring its health and life for years to come. You don't want to miss this power hour of earthly love!
Kids' Activity & Participation: We will be holding an earth material-based craft session beforehand in the fellowship hall. Children are welcome to come, create a piece of art, and write or draw an intention for the earth onto their clay. During the liturgy, we will make space for our "river of intentions," inviting our young ones to walk down the aisle with their artwork. Gathering for craft creation begins at 1:30, and the liturgy service begins at 2.

Annalyse & Ryan Biography
Annalyse & Ryan are an Americana husband-wife duo. They have recorded three albums and toured extensively with their band 2/3 Goat. After making a name for themselves as an emerging Americana act (2/3 Goat was described by Lee Zimmerman in No Depression as "one fine ensemble" whose "every song [on 2016 album Let It Rise] is outstanding"), Annalyse & Ryan began branching out into various songwriting projects and a musical duo of their own. Their touring has taken them across the US and Europe. Annalyse, a true McCoy descended directly from the Kentucky side of the McCoy-Hatfield feud, brings deep storytelling roots to their music. Ryan was reared on the coast of southern New Jersey, and the epic movements of the Atlantic come through in the grooves he brings to their songs. Annalyse & Ryan have shared the stage with Kathy Mattea, Jimmy Vivino, Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams, Smithfield, Chatham County Line, and more. They were one of five regular hand-picked acts at the Grand Ole Opry's Times Square venue, Opry City Stage. The duo has also been featured on John Platt's (WFUV) On Your Radar at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC. Their most recent single "When the Rain" was awarded Finalist in Americana in the 2020 SAW Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. Annalyse & Ryan's songs have been featured in multiple documentaries, television shows, and commercials.
