Singer-songwriter Melyssa Lee from Calgary, Alberta is happy to perform her latest collaborations with instrumentalist Jerevieux. Performing songs written about life, love, loss and relationships, her vulnerable music and lyrics are sure to make you leave with your cup filled and warmed. Singer-songwriter Melyssa Lee from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, can craft memoir into a poignant or vulnerable song. In early 2023, she released her first single, “Sunflower
(acoustic)”, about the sudden passing of her close friend’s young son. The song quickly garnered attention, making its way to numerous playlists, podcast interviews, CBC Radio Local Spotlight Feature and community and college radio, with over 45K plays on streaming platforms. She has since released her first full EP, “simply - acoustic
compilation” and two singles, “Mona’s Song” and "My Guarantee."
Drawing inspiration from folk roots and the emotive energy of the Lilith era, her songs are a blend of warmth, vulnerability and strength. Lee’s vocals range from tender to soul-stirring crescendos in the style of Sarah McLachlan, Dido, Jewel and Dolores O’Riordan; weaving stories of her parentage, her journey through life, love and relationships of all types Through her music, she celebrates life’s ebb and flow, advocating for love, acceptance and understanding amidst our differences.
For Melyssa Lee, songwriting is both a cathartic exploration and a bridge to other souls.
