Hailing from the city of brotherly love, Robert Gee is an heir apparent to the “Philly Soul” tradition. The youngest of six children, his considerable talents were noticed at an early age when he received a scholarship to study classical voice at the Settlement Music School. From there, he continued to build upon his accomplishments joining the acclaimed African-American opera company, Opera Ebony and gaining a place on the “Who’s Who in Music among American Students” list. Brimming with confidence, it was no big surprise that Robert Gee was able to put his skills to the test on the ultimate proving ground by winning the world-famous Apollo Theater Amateur Night! Robert Gee’s stellar talents don’t end with singing and songwriting. He is an accomplished actor/dancer who has starred in lead roles for some of the most outstanding productions in theater history such as Jesus Christ Superstar, The Wiz, Ain’t Misbehavin, and Pippin. Robert Gee has received rave reviews for his stage work by the LA Times and LA Weekly. He made his screen debut in The Little Richard Story as “Bossman.” Most notably, he was nominated for an NAACP Image award in 2006 for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Michael Ajakwe’s Body Language. However, it is his electrifying stage presence and voice that has allowed Robert Gee to work with some of the entertainment industry’s elite talents such as the late Luther Vandross, Debbie Allen, Vesta, Bebe Winans, Pauletta Washington, and the Emotions to name a few.
