Jarki Monno Biography
The London-born singer-songwriter Jarki Monno has developed his own unique sound of electronic, hip-hop and jazz from influences such as Mura Masa, Zach Said and Easy Life. Honing and developing his sound his single ‘Closure’ was released, followed by a sold-out headline show in Brighton.
Cheeky chappie Jarki Monno has always been active in attending and getting involved in the local music scene. The month of March 2020, Jarki Monno sold-out his debut headline London show at Servant Jazz Quarters shortly after supporting his influence Zach Said at the same venue. Selling out the SJQ has certainly been a highlight of Jarki Monno’s career so far, but not forgetting the radio spins of his raw and honest single ‘Wet Shave’ which has appeared on BBC Radio 1 (Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart), BBC Radio 2 (Jo Whiley), BBC Radio 6 (Huw Stephens) and BBC Introducing (Three Counties).
Jarki Monno is always writing new lyrics, developing electronic sounds and discovering alternative musical influences. With new music on the horizon, Jarki Monno shows how his style is refreshing, with hearty lyric writing, electronic goodness and hard-hitting grooves.
‘The words are honest, feelings are not concealed. Not so much raw as introspective. At times the delivery is so casual, it feels like a person laying bare their soul to a friend or a loved one. And yet the song is so sincere that you would find it hard to imagine someone saying this aloud, to anyone, ever - except in a recording like this!’ - MU Magazine, 2020
