Mira Lora Biography
How do you become who you are? The path of the young Swiss singer-songwriter Mira Lora shows that if you follow the course of the river, you end up finding yourself.
After some involvement in politics, a degree in economics and a job in a management consultancy, Mira Lora was discovered by her current manager when he saw her on television performing an introspective piece with piano and her trademark velvety voice in a farmhouse for a report on rural life. The dream then becomes reality: Mira Lora travels to Berlin and London, writes songs with artists such as Femi Luna, Pablo Nouvelle and Duncan Hamilton, opens for Veronica Fusaro and performs at the residency of the renowned Montreux Jazz Festival.
Her EP "Unleashed" (produced by composer and pianist Niklas Paschburg, among others) will be released on 24 November 2023 and explores the quest to find one's own path. Mira Lora's gentle energy is both audible and palpable in the EP’s five songs: rhythms throb like a resting pulse above a grounded piano, while electronic soundscapes transcend into the air. This iridescent mixture also defines Mira Lora as an artist persona: rooted and yet ethereal. She combines the best of many worlds: there’s something elfish about her akin to the Norwegian synth-pop singer AURORA, she’s down-to-earth like the Polish pianist Hania Rani and her electronica appeal brings to mind Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds. This is the sound of indie pop that transports you to inner worlds.
