The Infinite Daisy Chains Biography

From meeting at a rehearsal in a dimly lit garage to tying the knot five years later in marriage, Ian Dandridge and Kristina Westernik-Dandridge now set off to spread a much-needed message of hope. Inspired by their honeymoon experience in the Californian desert, they decided to combine their love for creating and performing music, forming what they now refer to as 'The Infinite Daisy Chains'. The marriage secured their commitment to each other, and that emotion spills over into the duo's creative process.

Not all addictions are bad -- their obsession with musical gear offered them the tools to blend the meditative mood of downtempo electronic music with the expansive energy of psychedelic pop. With a seemingly ‘infinite’ sonic palette that sees them generate ideas from synthesizers, drum machines and an array of live instrumentation, their sound fuses Bedroom Pop and Neo Psychedelia in a way that is unique to them. This ethos reflects those artists which have shaped their sound, with Warpaint, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Tame Impala, The Flaming Lips, and Beach House imparting heavy influence.

Although the venture is new, they are both well established and trained musicians who have been creating music for years back in the DC Metropolitan area. Kristina specializes in the violin, vocals, and Ableton push, whilst Ian is the guitarist of the duo. As well as the pair boasting years of experience in playing synthesizers and drum machines, they have produced and sound designed for splice.com, a leading music production platform with millions of creators.

Together with the team at Day Off Recordings, they released their debut EP 'Wake Up/ Melting into You' in June 2020. They released 'Memory Lane' a lush, dream pop single in August 2020 and 'Moreno Beach Club' in September 2020. Their songs were mixed and mastered by Sam Ford, of Tone City Recordings, who has engineered the likes of Jay Watson of Tame Impala and Pond. They anticipate dropping new music in 2021 thanks to mixing support from Jake Ingalls (Spaceface, The Flaming Lips), Omar Yakar Jr. (Engineer for Warpaint, Local Natives, The War on Drugs) and mastering from Mike Fridmann (KWKA, The Flaming Lips).
