Spirit of Music Potluck Concerts are organized by Down By Riverside, Inc. a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit based in Medford, MA. We use music and food to create feelings of connectedness and community. The music and performers are curated to engage the spirit, educate participants and to transport the listeners to a safe place. We want you to bring a contribution to the Potluck! Previous attendees have said that they love the stories about the recipes as much as the food! We will ask potluck questions during the ticket purchase process. This month, our Special Guest Star is Texas Blues Prophet, Willie J. Laws! Laws represents the Texas Blues tradition, as well as drawing from Muscle Shoals, Motown, Memphis, and New Orleans. He can leap from a knowing and naughty mischievous grin to pouring his heart out into a virtuosic solo. Jonathan Gramling and Toussaint the Liberator will be performing their healing harmonies and rhythms. There are tickets for adults, children, elders and donations help support the event. We are part of the Card to Culture program for folks with ConnectorCare, EBT, and WIC programs. The church is accessible and meets ADA standards. There is limited free parking at the church and attendees can park on the streets, because permit parking is not enforced on Sundays.
