Jasmin OMEARA

OMEARA’s musical career began when at 14 she removed a guitar off of her uncle’s wall and declared it her own. An autodidact, she joined the local indie scene in her hometown of Montreal shortly after, collaborating with several bands and experimenting within a multitude of different genres.

Taking a break from music to study design at university, it was a chance encounter in London which lead OMEARA back to music and playing bass in bands Temposhark and Kill Electric. OMEARA is best known for being the bass player for British synthpop pioneers Zoot Woman from 2008 to 2014.

Strongly inspired by the dark/post punk music that informed her and infused with her experience in dance/electronic bands, OMEARA’s first LP “Lovely Creatures” (2024) examines the harrowing quest of navigating love in the 21st century. Enhanced by her distinctively powerful voice, her Indie-Rock songs are set to a richly layered and modern take on the music which shaped her life.

OMEARA will be showcasing her "Lovely Creatures" LP with a tour of Germany and the Netherlands in summer 2024. Several more tracks are also scheduled for released throughout the year. So stay tuned!
