Mars on Holiday

Swathing synths and echoing guitars are punctuated by grooving basslines and introspective lyrics in Mars on Holiday's catchy psychedelic pop daydream.

Although they now call Perth home, Mars on Holiday was initially born of pandemic boredom in a tiny Melbourne studio apartment. First conceived as the solo project of Dane Pavic, it began as a simple songwriting experiment: 'what happens if you treat each song individually and write from a perspective of, 'what's best for this song?', rather than trying to force genre orthodoxy or an overarching sound?'. What resulted was a diverse and eclectic set of songs, yet all still connected by the same compelling emotional center throughout. With the singular aim of writing catchy ear worms, the project began to take shape; bringing a broad and divergent range of pop influences together under the singular umbrella of psychedelic music.

After writing and recording multiple albums worth of demos gradually growing in scope, a one-man band was no longer enough to bring the dense, layered sounds to life. Relocating to the sun soaked-shores of Perth, Mars on Holiday expanded to include Daniel Chan, Jack Schubert, and Maks Pavic.
