NYC is famous as a musical melting pot, but the rest of New York State has a deep history of mingled tunes, songs, and cultural traditions as well! This class will explore the fiddle traditions (and unique playing style) of New York State, including repertoire, rhythm, ornamentation, and regional history. In addition, we will learn a tune that is representative of the New York State fiddle style. -Workshops are on Zoom, but are also recorded. Videos are sent to registrants immediately afterwards, so you can register and watch later if you can't attend in person.
