Fronted by the charismatic Shannon Smith, whose heartfelt lyrics and potent vocals captivate audiences, the band features accomplished musicians Almin Fulurija on drums, Mark Ralph on keyboards, Dario Jiritano on bass, Jorbie Uangakore on lead guitar, and Helen Townsend providing rich backing vocals and guitar. Celebrated for their electric live performances, they've already left their mark with a sold-out single launch and a standout show at the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival. Fremantle singer/songwriter Shannon Smith is a born and bred musician, raised within a musical family amidst an atmosphere of jamming and live performance.
As such those ‘70s sensibilities are in the blood and bones of this multi-instrumentalist's songs, which evoke the soulful climes of inspirational artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan and 10cc, complemented by his deep love of Americana and alt-country music.
Over the years Shannon has played thousands of shows in all manner of formats – including acclaimed tributes to the likes of Fleetwood Mac, ABBA and Beach Boys – but hasn’t recorded and released his own songs.
Until now. Shannon is soon to release his debut solo album ‘Out Of The Shadows’, a collection of songs that speak of life and its lessons recorded in sessions spanning from Fremantle to Nashville. From upbeat life-affirming songs such as ‘Dance The Night Away’ and ‘Every Single Day’, to the gospel-like ‘Valentine’s Day’ and the brooding ‘I’m Gonna Change’ the emotions run high and wide. His voice is both tender and determined, reflective of the past and resolving for the future.
The river runs deep for Shannon and at this pivotal career moment music continues to be the very air that he breathes.
