About this concert
“The king and queen of the banjo,” married couple Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn will perform pieces from their GRAMMY-winning self-titled debut as well as their newer record, Echo in the Valley. Fleck is a 15-time GRAMMY Award winner who has taken the banjo across genres, and Washburn is a singer-songwriter and clawhammer banjo player who re-radicalized it by combining it with Far East culture and sounds.

The Grand Teton Music Festival has been bringing the finest in classical music to the valley of Jackson Hole since 1962. From its humble beginnings in a canvas tent at the base of Rendezvous Mountain, the Festival has grown into one of the nation’s finest music festivals. The Grand Teton Music Festival encompasses a summer season (July & August), and a winter concert series that take place in the acoustically-acclaimed Walk Festival Hall, as well as comprehensive education programs that reach the entire community. The glory of the festival is the extraordinary group of musicians who make their way every year to Jackson Hole to come together as the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra, under the visionary leadership of Maestro Donald Runnicles.
