KIA Biography

Los Angeles-based "soulwriter" KIA, a Dutch singer, emerges onto the music scene with a compelling blend of Alternative R&B and soul music. Her latest release, "I Won't Complain," serves as a glimpse into her upcoming EP, "Retrospect."

KIA made waves during the COVID-19 pandemic with her debut live album, "Tomorrow's Mind." Her music has been hailed as "deep and hypnotic" (Buzz-Music LA) and placed her in the "upper echelon of today’s soul wave" (Xttrawave). Beyond solo projects, KIA has contributed her songwriting and vocals to various productions, including the soundtrack of Netflix's animation movie "Fearless," Kevin Hart's "The Man from Toronto," Netflix’s “The Claus Family 3,” Hulu's "The Devil Conspiracy," and the German movie "Help! I Shrunk My Friends." Her talents extend to notable series and productions like "The Madam$" and the G’Day USA "Honoring Liam Hemsworth and Helen Reddy,” L-Acoustics L-ISA Technology, and Fortnite’s immersive audio catalogue.

Over the last few years she received both the NAMM President’s Innovation Award and the Ultimate Music Awards for Best Single-Pop of the Year and Best Female Artist of the Year. She was a top finalist at the IMSTA Songwriting Competition, the UK Songwriting Competition, won honorable mention at the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) and recently won the weekly John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
