Lily Arminda Biography
Lily Arminda spills secrets with endearing confidence as they welcome you inside the indie pop heaven of their EP, “DTR.” Produced by Daniel Álvarez de Toledo & Jordan Dunn-Pilz of the band TOLEDO, “DTR” (Define the Relationship) palpitates the highs and lows of relationships left up in the air. A thrilling twist from her previous work, with evolved lyrics and hi-fi bedroom production, this transition is a well executed amplification of Arminda’s already angelic sound.
Growing up in Columbus, Ohio, Arminda got their start opening for artists such as Lucy Dacus and Benjamin Francis Leftwich at local venues while working on and releasing their debut EP, “The Hourglass.” Her second EP, “Mismatched Poetry,” was born during a week spent in Jacksonville Beach, Florida collaborating with indie folk singer/songwriter/producer Corey Kilgannon. Shortly after this EP was made, Arminda moved to New York City and found herself collecting memories for the creation of “Neighborhood,” a lo-fi folk album rooted in the romance of the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan.
A lot has changed since "Neighborhood," which can be heard via the title track of “DTR.” Complemented by 90s rock influence and a heartbreaker of a chorus that hurts and heals simultaneously, “DTR,” is an instant confidence booster that will have you dancing around your room and jumping on your bed. "DTR" is out now in full on Urban Scandal Records.
