Civil Villains Biography
In 2023, alt-rock three-piece Civil Villains release their debut album, “Motion Sick” (May 26th). Recorded at Shaken Oak Studios with Mike Bannard (Foals, Glass Animals), it's the accumulation of creative ideas that have buzzed within the band for many years, painstakingly crafted and hewn into a form that the band are proud to now be sharing.
Having previously released their debut EP, "Snake Oil", recorded live with Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studios (USA Nails, JOHN (TIMESTWO)), and with a number of singles recorded at Brighton Electric with Josh Harrison (Royal Blood, Sea Power, Tigercub), "Motion Sick" sees Civil Villains truly hone their sound and display the full breadth of their songwriting capability.
Their scintillating live show has seen them share stages with bands like Sparta, Listener, Poly-Math, Bellevue Days, Kid Kapichi, and many others, whilst their committed work ethic has seen them book two North American D.I.Y. tours, taking in headline shows in Toronto (ON) and Cambridge (MA), festival performances in Quebec City and New York City, and shows in the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle and Vancouver.
